Across the United Kingdom small, medium and large businesses rely heavily on asset finance companies when it comes time to purchase or upgrade high-value equipment (i.e. machinery, vehicles, IT hardware…). Asset finance is a critical financial product for businesses, enabling them to avoid the large upfront cost of purchasing an outright asset (equipment) purchase and improving cash flow by enabling the cost of the asset to be spread across its usable life. So, with all that said how do you find the right asset finance company for your business?
In this detailed guide we’ll take you through 104 asset financing companies (brokers and financiers) able to work with UK businesses providing between £1,000 and £10,000,000+ in finance over periods of 1 to 7 years. These asset finance providers offer a mixture of three core types of asset finance; this includes (HP) Higher Purchase, (FL) Finance Lease and (OL) Operating Lease.
Additionally, many providers offer variations of the above types and more niche types (or use a different name for a type). This includes (RE) Refinance, (CH) Contract Hire, (LP) Lease purchase, (SL) Sale and Leaseback (Type of Refinance), (SH) Sale and higher purchase (Type of Refinance), (CP) Contract Purchase, (FTR) Fixed term rental, (L) Leasing (used where type of lease available has not been found), (R) Rental, (LS) Leasing sales, (SLE) Seasonal Lease, (ML) Master Lease, (HA) Hire agreement, (SFI) Supplier finance and (PCP) Personal Contract for Purchase (apart from the first few entries we’ve used the abbreviations listed above throughout the guide below to indicate the different types of asset finance each company can provide).
For each asset finance company in this guide, we’ve endeavoured to provide as much detailed information as possible, including details such as name, type (Broker or Financier), company background, website, location, types of asset finance covered, the size/type of businesses the company can work with (i.e. sole trader, small company, large businesses…), the sectors they work/specialise in, contract periods, how they assess assets (I.e. DIMS), examples of assets they’ve financed / can finance, amount of finance that can be provided, special conditions (i.e. 10% deposit or 3 year trading requirement), international coverage (with specific mention if they cover Ireland) and contact information (email or link to contact form page).
The guide to asset finance companies below is not ranked in order, we have however endeavoured to put larger and more well known providers nearer the top of the guide. The guide is designed as a resource providing general information on asset finance companies enabling you to whittle down and carry out your own due diligence on the providers that make the most sense given your business circumstances. We are not promoting any particular companies, products or services. This guide is purely for information purposes, it is not intended as a substitute for professional advice.
