Being able to successfully utilise techniques that are known to encourage traffic toward your company blog, can sometimes prove a difficult task. With so many varying tactics and strategies available, how can you work to identify those that will provide the best result? Within the article below, we will cover the different approaches that you could be using within your content writing in order to direct a larger audience towards your company’s blog.

Share your content on Social Media

First and foremost, ensuring the content that you publish to your blog is shared to where your target audience is most likely to see it, such as your business’ social media platforms, is one of the simplest yet effective ways that you can work to increase the amount of traffic to your blog. Sharing your published content with a group of pre-established followers on your social accounts is an ideal way to market your company’s knowledge and services toward the users most likely to be interested. Social media platforms that tend to be more business focused, such as LinkedIn, can act as great channels for generating traffic, helping your website see an improvement in the number of potential customers visiting the site as a result.

There is currently no way for companies to guarantee that their customers will frequent their business page on a regular basis unless you have something to entice them with. This means that updates such as newly published blog content can often be missed. Social media is a tool that is able to provide a solution to this potential issue, allowing for any updates or important information to be published directly to the news feeds of your social followers; this can help to keep users engaged in the activities of your business and even increase the chances of them returning to your site and engaging with you again in the future. Working to connect with your customer base in this manner is a great way to encourage a steady increase in traffic to your business’ blog.

Focus your content on topics that will interest your target audience

Another important factor to consider when aiming to improve traffic toward your company blog is whether the content that you are writing will be of interest to your target audience. If the articles that you publish focus on topics that are rarely searched for then your chances of directing a substantial amount of traffic toward your website with that content will be, unfortunately, very slim.

While it is tempting to produce content that covers only the topics currently relevant, such as upcoming trends or news within the industry, these kinds of article tend to have a much shorter shelf life. To avoid this issue, content writers should aim to produce blog posts that cover the topics that users are seen to be searching for time and time again; the resulting content will likely remain relevant for a lot longer. These are sometimes referred to as ‘ever green’ articles. In that they are useful all year round.

This is an approach that should become the foundation of your business’ copywriting plan- to produce relevant and engaging content expected to have a long shelf life.
