10. The Huffington Post

Ranked the number one political site in the US, Huffington Post publishes news articles and editorials online with a major focus on political news. After AOL acquired Huffington Post in 2011, they expanded the company’s outreach further to over 375 million people. It has even won a Pulitzer Prize for its achievements in the area of journalism.

This website has a network of users who blog and share pictures. Founded in 2007, Tumblr started earning massive profits in 2012 due to the use of paid advertising and a year later, Yahoo bought the company. It connects millions of users who want an exceptional blogging experience.

8. eBay

The site allows users to bid online and buy and sell things. The site also provides a hassle-free payment and delivery system. Within a few years since its start in 1995, eBay experienced an incredible growth rate and is now counted as one of the technology giants.

7. Amazon

In 1994, Jeff Bezos started what is now the world’s biggest online retailer with millions of products that satisfy its huge customer base. What began as a book retailer is now a huge retailer for various products. In just over 20 years, Amazon has an enormous network of suppliers and buyers and earns huge profits.

6. Twitter

Twitter was founded in 2006 and quickly became one of the most famous social websites. It is also a search engine and earns profits by offering promoted tweets to companies who want their results to be seen. It now has a large share of the social media industry and gives tough competition to Facebook.

5. Facebook

One of the most famous social media websites, Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and now has over a billion users. Celebrities and companies use the site to communicate with their audiences. To maintain its popularity, Facebook keeps coming up with new features to retain its position as the best social media website.

4. Yahoo

This dotcom giant was started in 1994 by Jerry Yang and David Filo. It has various features which include a search engine, news, email, financial information about various firms and stock exchanges, and online games.

3. Google

Google is one of the most famous websites which makes its profits from advertisements. Founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google is THE search engine people use. The powerful web giant is only going to grow more with time as they introduce new technology products frequently, like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.

2. Apple

Apply began in 1976 and after a few failures finally regained its position once it designed the iPhone and iPod series. The ground-breaking technology Apple has to offer is surpassed by few.

1. Microsoft

Bill Gates and Paul Allen started Microsoft in 1976, and the company soon rocked the technology market with its products. Microsoft is the eighth largest company in the world and has also introduced gaming consoles like the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
