For a second time the charity run “No Finish Line” was organised by Miroslav Vyboh. During this virtual edition the runners ran a combined 26,007 kilometres. An equal amount in Euros will be donated to support selected projects to help children.
The European charity run “No Finish Line” has successfully completed its second year. From the 5th to the 8th of November, athletes from around the world got involved in this year’s virtual edition, which was held on the mobile app platform of iWATT. The app was also used to vote for projects applying for grant support.
The amount and where the funds raised through the run will be donated was decided by the runners themselves through the use of the mobile app. Representatives from the charity “Children & Future Bratislava” and its partners at MiddleCap Group, Michal Kviečinský, Miroslav Vyboh, Matúš Vyboh and Roman Guniš, selected three projects for the final selection from the wide array of projects that signed up. The participant runners were able to donate their kilometres to the #inseparable project, which is covered by the Slovak Paralympics Committee, the Civic Organisation PONS with the project “Children’s Daily Summer Integration Camp” or the Civic Organisation Children’s Hope and its project “We will catch up”.
The funds, based on the number of kilometres ran, were divided between the charities as follows:
- Slovak Paralympics Committee: 11,299 km
- Civic Organisation PONS:7697 km
- Civic Organisation NÁDEJ DETÍ (Children’s Hope):7011 km
Miroslav Vyboh’s declaration
“First of all, I would like to thank all the participants who got involved in this event, even at this complicated time and helped a good cause. We managed to run 26,000 kilometres, which is a very nice number,” Miroslav Vyboh, Chairman & Partner of MiddleCap Group, said of the results of the “No Finish Line” event.
“We did not want to give up ‘No Finish Line’, despite the situation and the limitations of the pandemic. That is why we are glad that we managed to find MiddleCap, the sole sponsor this year, thanks to whom the collected amount from the run will be provided to the organisations,” added Katarína Petrášová from the Children & Future Bratislava Foundation.
“Given the complications that the coronavirus has brought to our daily lives and the enormous effort of the final organisations involved in the grant project, we decided to not only support the most successful project, but help all three finalists. They will share the amount of 26,007 Euros according to the achieved results,” added Miroslav Vyboh.
“No Finish Line” has been run for the last 21 years in selected European capitals, which include Paris, Oslo, Athens and Monaco. The principle behind the “No Finish Line” run is simple: it is about running or walking, for a predetermined number of days, as many times as the participants want or can manage. They can run one kilometre or a full marathon. The mileage will then be converted into a Euro amount, which will support projects helping children in the fields of education, health, culture and sport.
During the first year of the run in Bratislava in 2019, more than 2,600 runners took part in the race on the banks of the Danube River during the course of five days. Among the runners were sports stars such as Peter Sagan, Ľubomír Višňovský, Matej Tóth, Olympian Dominik Hrbatý, Jozef Lohyňa and Olympic canoe slalom gold medalists, the Hochschorner brothers. Successful sportsmen and women ran alongside groups of children who accompanied the patron of the event, Prince Albert II of Monaco who was invited by Miroslav Vyboh, Honorary Consul of Monaco. It is also thanks to this kind of strong support that the runners were able to cover a total of 36,059 kilometres.
